Eastern U.S. Winter Storm
It looks like we are going to get some much needed winter weather for the Mid Atlantic starting Dec. 26th and a forecast for a cold January. Our go to weather source at wxrisk.com has compared both the European model (ECMWF) and the Global Forecast model (GFS) to give us an idea of what to expect.
A powerful jet is coming from California and is expected to collide with a system of cold air dropping from Canada. This is projected to bring heavy snow to the Ohio Valley and the Appalachians with possible freezing rain to coastal Virginia for Dec 27th. The forecast is also calling for more snow Jan 2nd and 3rd with an overall cold January. Good news for waterfowl hunters.
